A very important recipe to know especially for the Autumn season is homemade pumpkin spice. You can buy pumpkin spice at your local grocery store, but buy making it at home you can experiement with the ingredients to make it taste how you like it. Also, I just enjoy making things myself, it makes me feel great to be able to make things at home. At the store you will buy your spices anyways, but if you buy them in bulk, you can actually save a little money by making a lot more pumpkin spice for less money.
To make your own pumpkin spice it is pretty simple.
Here's the recipe:
3 Tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp ground all spice
1 1/2 tsp ground cloves
Its a pretty simple recipe. Not too hard to remember even.
So you are going to put all of your spices in a bowl, or even right into the container you will be storing them in. Gently mix them together with a spoon. You could even just put them in the container, cover the container and then shake the container until the spices look evenly mixed.
Like I previously said you can customize the amount of each spice to your own taste buds. Sometimes I add a little more cinnamon just because I really like cinnamon.
Make sure your storage container is sealed tightly and store with your other spices.
